Every song we make is about someone's story. So we wanted each one to help write another story too.
For every paid order, Tune From You lends £1 through Lendwithcare to help someone in a low-income country start or grow their own small business. It doesn't cost you anything extra – it comes out of what we make on each song.
Lendwithcare is run by CARE International UK.
We set aside £1 from every paid order.
Once the money adds up to a full loan (the smallest loan Lendwithcare takes is £15), we choose a small business owner to lend to, through one of Lendwithcare's local partners.
The loan is paid back in instalments as the business grows. When it comes back, we lend it out again, so the same money can help again and again.
I'm Jamie, and I run Tune From You on my own. I know how much it means to have a go at building something of your own, and how hard it is to get started without a bit of help.
What I like about Lendwithcare is that it's a loan, not a handout. People choose what they want to do with their business, they pay the loan back, and that money can then help the next person. It's run by CARE International UK, which has been fighting poverty for a very long time, so I feel confident about where the money goes.
It's a small thing, but it felt right that every song should do a little bit of good beyond the person it's written for.

Susan and her husband run a sewing business with six employees. They make uniforms for government workers, teachers and students, and do repairs like replacing zips and buttons. Her loan is for fabric, thread and other supplies to keep up with their orders.
Susan's loan of £1,989.56 is shared between many lenders, and Tune From You is one of them.

No, it's a loan. The business owner pays it back in instalments, and when they do, we lend that money out again to someone new.
We do. Lendwithcare lists small business owners who've applied for a loan through a local partner organisation, and we pick who to lend to.
Most do, but not always. Repayments can also come back slightly more or less than lent, because loans are made in local currencies and exchange rates move. We're happy to take that small risk.
Lendwithcare's smallest loan is £15, so we save up the £1s from paid orders and lend them in rounds.
